When prominent neurophysiologist Dr. Joseph Sgro found that while studying the human brain that he needed a way to take pictures of the brain's neurons firing to help diagnose certain conditions in the hopes of being able to use the information he could obtain to cure his patients. To make this possible he developed a series of very high speed cameras along with frame grabbers and image capturing software to make this possible.
Although he developed these very high speed cameras his research, he founded both Alacron and Fast Vision, two companies who have both gone on to use this technology for use in many other fields. The c cameras and the accompanying hardware and programming that he developed are now being used in drones and guided missiles that are helping our troops in areas such as Afghanistan and Iraq, while their controllers are located here in the US.
